Josh Barlow is a 3D Generalist at Harbor London, who brings a versatile background in 2D, 3D, and stop-motion animation to his visual effects work. After studying Animation Production at the Arts University Bournemouth, he began his career at Outpost VFX before moving to London to join The Mill, contributing to a range of high-profile commercial projects.
Josh’s work spans advertising, episodic, and music videos, with recent highlights including Chick-fil-A’s “Rocky Road”, the playful IKEA “Hare” spot, and the atmospheric “Silent Running” music video for Gorillaz. He has also helped craft memorable campaigns such as the Royal Marines’ “Spider” and O2’s “Follow the Rabbit”, bringing together strong animation sensibilities and a rigorous technical approach.
He has collaborated with leading London studios including The Mill, Electric Theatre Collective, nineteentwenty, Freefolk, Blinkink, Nexus, and Analog, and has partnered with directors such as Sam Pilling, Nicos Livesey, Sam Brown, Nicolai Fuglsig, Siqi Song, Conor Finnegan, Smith & Foulkes, and FX Goby.
Josh enjoys working closely with directors to translate their ideas into compelling visual narratives, drawing on his animation roots to balance creativity with technical execution.
