About

Vlad Barin’s portfolio spans commercials, documentaries, shorts, features, animations, and music videos. Whatever the format, he brings bold ideas and technical mastery to every project. Shaped by the timeless landscapes of his native Romania and the rigorous training of the National Film and Television School, Vlad has developed a deep love for tangible textures and rich colour, making him a passionate advocate for shooting on film. When not in the grading suite, he can often be found in another darkroom, developing his own images.

Vlad’s collaborators include directors Imogen Harrison and Dave East, DoPs Thomas Hole, Stefan Yap, Anna MacDonald, Jack Maddison, and Anna Patarakina, as well as brands such as Puma, Lululemon, Gucci, and COS. Most notably, this year he worked with BBH and Grey Goose on a high-profile international campaign, directed by Martin Werner, and starring Zoe Saldaña.

Beyond advertising, Vlad has lent his vision to standout music videos for artists including Bring Me The Horizon, Leigh-Anne, Chase and Status, 21Savage, Central Cee, and multiple videos for The Academic – one of which earned Silver at Creative Circle for Best Colour Grading.

Features and shorts Vlad has graded are regularly selected for major international festivals, including Grierson, SXSW, BFI London Film Festival, Raindance, and Camerimage, with several earning BAFTA nominations and wins. Recent titles include The Lesson, starring Richard E. Grant, ASOG with director Sean Devlin, and So Foul A Sky created by Álvaro F. Pulpeiro. Forth coming Film4/Magnify feature Filipinaña is due for release soon.
