Ryan Billia is an Emmy-nominated Supervising Sound Editor, Sound Designer, and Re-Recording Mixer who has cultivated long-standing creative partnerships with filmmakers including Desiree Akhavan, Andrew Ahn, Aaron Katz, Michael Angelo Covino, Sebastian Silva, Jem Cohen, Jill Magid, Alex Camilleri, Kate McKinnon, Kelly Reichardt, Liza Mandelup, and Jillian Bell.
Throughout his career, Ryan has worked on acclaimed films produced by Terrence Malick, Laura Poitras, and Ramin Bahrani. He is also a former professor in NYU’s Graduate Film program.
Ryan’s recent narrative work includes The Mastermind, Summer of 69, Materialists, Nonnas, HBO’s Reality, Mariame Diallo’s Master, Amazon Prime Video’s Goodnight Mommy, James Gray’s Armageddon Time, and Netflix’s Along for the Ride.
His recent nonfiction credits include Pee-Wee As Himself, Caterpillar, Slumlord Millionaire, Suburban Fury, and Todd Chandler’s Bulletproof, which had its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival.
