Sound Veteran Tony Volante Joins Harbor Picture Company
NEW YORK — Full-service production and post production facility Harbor Picture Company (www.harborpicturecompany.com) has signed industry veteran Tony Volante as supervising sound editor & re-recording mixer. Volante brings more than 20 years of sound editing and mixing experience in both film and television to Harbor’s sound post team.
Prior to joining Harbor, Volante served as re-recording mixer at Sound Lounge, where he founded the film and television division. In 2014, he opened his own audio post company, TVO Post. He was also instrumental in developing the film department at Soundtrack during his 10-year tenure from 1995 to 2005.
Volante has mixed a wide range of film projects with notable credits that include Paterson, The Place Beyond the Pines, Blue Valentine, Limitless, The Light Between Oceans and, most recently, The Dinner, which was color graded by Harbor’s senior colorist, Joe Gawler. His television work includes Starz’s The Girlfriend Experience, NBC’s Smash and ABC’s The Knights of Prosperity, among others.
Before embarking on his film career, Volante spent 15 years recording and mixing music for Grammy winning recording artists, including Donald Fagen of Steely Dan and Roger Daltrey of The Who.
“Tony’s work embodies the depth and beauty that sound post brings to storytelling,” says Harbor’s founder and president Zak Tucker. “He picks up on the subtle nuances of each story and brings them to life for audiences through sound in ways only he can. He’s also developed a loyal following of top directors and editors that we look forward to welcoming into the Harbor family, and his immense talent will be an incredible asset to our clients.”
“Harbor continues to show their full commitment to supporting the film and television community here in New York,” adds Volante. “I’m looking forward to introducing my loyal clientele to the Harbor family and world class facility, as well as meeting new and exciting challenges ahead.”
